THE Basingstoke Bluefins had a great time at the British Masters National Long Course Championships in Aberdeen.

The team set British records and also returned with a massive medal haul.

The seven swimmers taking part in Scotland were Olly Espinasse, Lizzie Godfrey, Neil Mitchell, Simon Hindshaw, Natalie McNamara, Spencer Turner and Fleur Parker. The team was also joined and supported by Ian Cameron the Bluefins masters coach.

The relay team of Espinasse, Turner, Godfrey and Parker set three British records in the 4x50m freestyle, 4x100m freestyle and 4x200m freestyle relays.

They also went on to win another gold in the 4x50m medley relay.

Godfrey continued her great form with a further three gold medals in the 50m and 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle.

Turner won the 100m freestyle, Espinasse took a silver for 50m backstroke and Parker a bronze in the 50m backstroke.

Mitchell was on good form and competed in the gruelling 400m individual medley and picked up a silver medal.

He also went on to win another silver in the 100m backstroke and bronze in 50m breaststroke.

Hindshaw swam a strong 100m fly, after not racing this event for many years and won bronze.

McNamara back only recently from injury, swam well in the 50m freestyle and 100m fly.
