TADLEY teenager Charlotte Huddart just missed out on a medal on her Target Sprint World Championship debut,.

This was after the Great Britain team finished an arms length behind the bronze medallists the Czech Republic in Suhl, Germany.

However, it was a great achievement for the team as this was the first time GB had competed at this level.

All three girls Huddart, Victoria Bradbury and Emily Shawyer in the team returned personal bests.

All of them also came through qualification for the individual event to make the final top 12.

Huddart finished tenth moving up from 11th in qualifying, with Bradbury seventh and Shawyer ninth.

Target Spirit is a run and shoot discipline, where competitors run 400 metres then shoot at five knock down targets.

This is followed by another 400 metres and another five shots before a final 400 metres to the finishing line.

The run was through the streets in the centre of Suhl.

The calibre of opposition was very high including Olympic gold medallist and World Championship from biathlon and distance running.
