THRUXTON hosted the Truck festival and in the supporting classes there were some Basingstoke drivers in action.

In the Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Racing Championship driver Phillip Espinasse was in his MG F VVC 18CC. Espinasse qualified 10th on the grid, third in his class.

In his first race on Saturday he finished 11th and was fourth in his class.

Starting from 11th on Sunday’s second race Espinasse finished ninth making up two places over the 13-lap race.

There were two other drivers in the Carbon8 Hyundi Coupe Cup.

Robert Brown from Woking was racing his Basingstoke College of Technology 2 litre Hyundi Coupe.

He qualified 22nd for the first race on Saturday and finished 20th and on Sunday started 20th on the grid and finished in the same position.

Basingstoke’s Simon Miles in his Carbon8 lighting Hyundi Coupe qualified ninth in the one make series and finished sixth in Saturday’s race.

On Sunday he started sixth on the grid, but on the first lap, lost two places and quickly made his way to finish seventh where he started the race.
