Ben Shaughnessy scored their opener and after Ben Jubin and Brian Dixon combined Phil Stewart converted.

Basingstoke added two more to their tally before half time, with Jacques Lourens converting a short corner and Shaughnessy getting his second.

After the break, Shaughnessy drag flicked into the top left corner from a short corner for his hat-trick and Greg Smith finished off the scoring.

The seconds go into the Christmas break third in their league, with a game in hand.

The men’s first team went down 4-3 at home to Fareham, leaving them fourth in the Hampshire/Surrey Regional Division One.

The week before they won 3-2 away at Woking. They led 1-0 after Todd Hutcheson fed Will Jewkes to score and a brace from Dean Record sealed the win.
