BASINGSTOKE Bluefins won 20 medals at the ASA Masters National Short Course Championships at Ponds Forge.

Spencer Turner, Neil Mitchell, Olly Espinasse, Steve Canning, Matt Wright, Jack Staples, Simon Hindshaw, Sarah Adams, Zoe Sadler, Claudia Mazza, Lizzie Godfrey, Natalie McNamara, Fleur Parker, Caroline Ball, Emily Budzynski-Seymour and Laura Mosely, along with coaches Ian Cameron and Keone Crockwell all made the trip.

Godfrey won the opening medal with a gold in the 200 metres backstroke. The 50m butterfly saw Espinasse take silver, with Parker and Turner doing likewise in the 100m freestyle.

In the 100m backstroke both Godfrey and Parker won gold and Ball took silver. The trio then of joined Adams takes gold in the 4x50m freestyle relay and silver in the 4x50m medley relay.

Godfrey collected gold in the 200m individual medley and Parker won the 50m freestyle, while Turner won gold in the 200m freestyle.

Day three started with the Bluefins setting a new British and European record in the 4x200m freestyle relay of 8min 43.06sec, thanks to Espinasse, Turner, Adams and Parker, which was 0.01 inside the record.

Further medals came in the 50m backstroke with Parker getting a gold, and Godfrey a silver,. In the 100m individual medley Godfrey gold and Parker bronze. Adams won a silver in the 800m freestyle.
