KENNET Osprey took themselves to Dandys Ford Fishery and Steve Hunt duly won the match with 97lb 12oz of carp on pole and meat.

Kim Coombes caught 76lb 13oz of carp mainly on pole and feeder tactics, Mick Donohoe put 72lb 14oz in the sack using pole and differing baits, whilst Glen Wills caught 58lb 6oz. All 23 caught.

Adventure fished at Billhook Lake where Steve Davis topped out with 41lb 8oz of mixed on pole and caster. Dave Stratford-Way used pole and corn for his 39lb 12oz of carp. Mark Blackmon put 33lb 4oz on the scales using pole and meat with Graham Spiller making up the frame on 26lb. Sixteen fished.

Camrose AC were at New Barlows Lake and Paul Bassinder, with pole and pellet caught carp for his 28lb 8oz. Colin Thomas caught 21lb 8oz of mixed on the maggot feeder, Darren (dodgy) Brown pole and magged it for his even 20lb whilst Bill Atkinson used pole and pellet for 15lb 8oz. All 14 caught.

Keith Brown, the Staceys Angling Club Supremo, has been stocking Whitehouse Lake and New Barlows Lake again, 306lb of bream to 8lb went into Whitehouse and 250lb of bream to 9lb were put in New Barlows on Sunday last, after the booked matches had finished, incidentally the match at Whitehouse was won with 61lb of bream, after this influx of new fish. I can envisage 100lb bags soon.

Camrose AC fished at Frobury Farm, where John Timney scored with 36lb of carp on pole and pellet, Brian Orchard 34lb, whilst match secretary Pip Seeney caught 29lb 8oz. All 10 weighted.

On my return from Majorca I fished Ospreys match at Dandys and noticed that Camouflage Jim had grown a beard and he was extremely pleased with the colour – white.

When I asked why he was so happy he replied ‘ho ho, hopefully I will be in demand for functions at Christmas, and he was serious.
