BASINGSTOKE Railway Club were at Cheriton Farm last Sunday and in a tight finish Trevor Matthews put pole and maggot to good use to narrowly win with 112lb.

Keith Brown caught 111lb of carp up in the water, John Hooley used pole and maggot for his 93lb whilst Paul Upton weighed in 70lb 2oz.

Seventeen fished and caught.

Adventure AS fished this week’s match at Timsbury Manor where Mick Fordham topped out with 168lb of carp on pole and paste.

Pete Finkham took second spot with 162lb of carp on pole and corn, Nick Sargent’s 151lb was good enough for third spot followed by Mark Blackmon on 142lb 8oz.

Sixteen fished and caught.

Kennet Osprey’s match at Marsh Farm Godalming saw Bartosz Recki make it six wins in six matches, using pole and corn 18lb 2oz of crucian carp and tench made up his bag. Pete Wooldridge caught 11lb 14oz of mainly tench on chopped worm and caster, Graham Shadwell’s 8lb 4oz came next followed by Keith Saunders on 7lb.

Sixteen fished some blanked.

Camrose AC were at New Barlows on Sunday where Bill Atkinson won with 51lb 12oz of mixed on pole and pellet.

Paul Bassinder caught 26lb also on pole and pellet, followed by Pete Morris with 25lb 6oz of carp.

Ten fished and Paul Bassinder went swimming.

The Adventure AS Bank Holiday match at Walters Lake in South Cerney saw Rob Gallagher win with 85lb 12oz.

Mike Allen was second on 82lb followed by Gary Knight with 80lb and Colin Shepherd on 72lb 12oz. Eighteen fished.

Camrose were at Frobury Two last week and Robbie Williams topped it with 50lb of carp on paste, Danny Williams used the same tactics for his 47lb as did Colin Thomas 44lb and Ralph Sneddon 41lb. Twelve fished.

‘Er indoors has been booking holidays again this time with my daughter, son-in-law and the grandchildren, I call them Bonnie and Clyde, my granddaughter takes all my cash whilst my grandson smiles at me.
