OVERTON Black Arrows had a great success at the Yateley Archers Open Archery Tournament.
In total 10 members of the club entered and they won all the five classes they entered.
Richard Buckner won the Gents Recurve Bow Style and Joanne Bevis won the same event for the ladies. The winners also teamed up to win the Recurve team event with Luke Standivan and Rob Aldridge.
Dave Roseman came out on top in the Compound Bow Style.
In the Short Windsor, Standivan came first and Alex Allam was second.
In the Junior Windsor for under-12s was won by Jodie Buckner. Mark Davies, Steve Allam and Terry Edwards sadly did not win any medals, but were well placed.
At the end of the day, Richard Buckner won the fun shoot for gentlemen and Bevis did likewise for the ladies.
Overton’s Peter Turner was one of the archers from right around Britain that competed in one of British archery’s most historic events, the Grand National Archery Meeting.
Established in York in 1844, it is now shot over three days at Lilleshall. Although not winning, Turner put 30 per cent on his previous score, to be placed 19th in the Gentlemen’s long bow class.
