BASINGSTOKE gymnast Mia Perryment represented the south region at the national finals at Fenton Manor last month.

To reach the finals, Perryment competed in the Woman’s Artistic section under their new coach of Anton Angelski at the Dynamo School of Gymnastics, where she came second overall.

She demonstrated strength and flexibility in the range and conditioning section where she finished first overall.

To complete a successful day for Perryment, she also came second on floor and bars.

These scores and accomplishments resulted in her being selected for the national finals, and representing the south region at the event in May.

Perryment competed beautifully and achieved a personal best scoring over 60 marks, which helped the team to overall eighth.

She was placed 19th individually and sixth on range and conditioning, out of 49 gymnasts.

l MINI TeamGym members took part in their first ever Competition, at the Hawth Open in Surrey.

These young and inexperienced competitors, represented their club with strength and grace.

Basingstoke V (Saffy Rougier, Jemima Froom, Evie Woodroffe) were placed ninth with 21.80.

Basingstoke VI (Tabitha Mayon-White, Marina Antelme, Millie Green, Martha Petersen) took third place with a score of 24.30.

In the youth girls section, Basingstoke had three teams representing the club.

The youth section is for gymnasts aged 10 to 14 years, and one of the teams came away with a bronze medal from the competition.
