THREE of Basingstoke Blufins’ Sharks swimmers headed continued their excellent season at the Swansea Stingray Open Meet.

The calibre of swimming was high with a number of the Welsh Para Team entering such as Jack Thomas.

He was the Commonwealth 200 metres freestyle bronze medalist and some of the Bluefins had the chance to swim against him.

Joe Rose knocked an amazing five seconds off his 50m freestyle personal best.

He also led the team to victory in the 4 x 25m free relay to earn the swimmer of the meet.

Scott Howe had a nice strong start and fast turn on his 50m fly knocking five seconds off his PB.

Ciarán Kelly was really strong 200m free knocking two seconds of his PB.

BASINGSTOKE Bluefins’ Lynne Harrison was presented with the President’s Plate at the Hampshire County ASA Annual Dinner.

The dinner held at Hayling Island, saw Harrison receive her well deserve accolade from the current county president, Trevor Linkins.

She is only the third Basingstoke Blufins club member to win this award, following in the footsteps Michelle Kimber, Maria Miller and Craig Prall of Mike Lambert (2001) and most recently Zoe Sadler (2012).

This was to recognise her efforts as a volunteer and team manager at the club and county level over many years.

Harrison has been the team manager of the Hampshire County team for the past seven years.
