THE start of the outdoor season was typically wintery but under all the layers of clothing the Whitchurch League got under way.
Basingstoke Spades comprehensively beat Howard Park A by 53 shots to 34 and so head Division One. Kingsclere Quails were not far behind after beating Andover B 61-47.
Hyde Abbey A beat Littleton Leopards 51-41 and newly promoted Alton beat Old Basing Cavaliers 44-37.
In Division Two, Marnell Blues got off to a good start by beating Hook Hares by 75-26.
Whitchurch Yellows put away Alton Social 64-38 and Andover A did the same to St Mary Bourne Hawks 64-41.
Division Three leaders are Howard Park C who beat Town’s Jokers by 58-35.
Oakley Kingfishers beat Whitchurch Blues in a low scoring game 34-18 and Old Basing Roundheads made short work of Hook Foxes 76-39.
Marnell Greens head Division Four following victory over Old Basing Royalists 53-40.
Howard Park B beat Thornycroft 51-31 and hold second place with Friary in third after defeating Littleton Lions 55-41.
Oakley Kites just shaded Oakley Woodpeckers 45-44 and St Mary Bourne Merlins beat Kingsclere Pheasants 47-41.
