BASINGSTOKE gymnast Yasmin Taite who trains at the Pinewood Gymnastics Club won a team silver medal in her second tumbling World Championships in Denmark.

Taite along with club mate Lucie Colebrook and Rachel Davies qualified for the final in first place ahead of China and Russia.

The 19-year-old tumbler performed two preliminary runs consisting of a straight pass and a twisting pass.

Despite suffering from injury Taite performed her final run which included a double straight transition to a double pike somersault and finishing with an excellent score of 33.1.

Colebrook was second up, and executed a beautiful pass consisting of a double straight transition to a full twisting double pike somersault scoring 34.7.

Davies from Deerness Valley Club was the last member of the GB team to take part.

She kept her focus and completed her routine scoring 35.2 as Great Britain secured the silver 0.5 behind the winning Chinese team.

Taite is now in preparation for the European championships in March in Spain.
