KINGSCLERE A and Andover A head the way early on in Basingstoke and District Tennis Winter League Men’s Division One with two wins each, writes RICHARD MOLE.

Kingsclere A beat Winchester 7-1 and Andover B 8-0 thanks to their team of Chris Pearce (pictured)/Paul Rattue and Daniel Cole/Steve Mills.

The Andover A team also beat the same teams, Winchester 6-2 and their B team 8-0.

Kintbury drew with defending champions Totally Tennis A, who had Simon James and Miles Bromilow to thank for their point.

Newly promoted Hampshire Court A have got off to a good start in Division Two with a draw against Goodworth Clatford and a 6-2 win over Overton with Darren Giddings and Simon Goodall winning all their sets.

Phil Banfield and Chris Harrold were unbeaten for Beechdown A in their 5-3 win against RSF B.

Odiham B have only dropped the one set in Division Three in their first two matches with victories over Kingsclere B 8-0 and Mortimer A 7-1.

Jeremy Hillage teamed up with David Bisson in the Kingsclere game and Lee Aubrey against Mortimer to remain unbeaten in both matches.

Waverley B beat their A team 5-3 and then drew with BDH where John McKay and Tim Clist got a maximum. BDH beat Hampshire Court B 5-3, but then slipped up 7-1 against Waverley A, with Tony Vanderslott and Jeff Watson winning all their sets.

Kingsclere B beat Hampshire Court B 7-1 and a Mark Hammond/Andrew Mountford maximum saw Old Basing B home 5-3 at Oakley A.

Totally Tennis B lead Division Four after two straight wins,7-1 against Beechdown C and 8-0 over Hook thanks to their team of Nick Dingwall/Manuel Diego and Steve Kilgannon/Alberto Vinuales.

Beechdown B beat Oakley B 6-2 and drew with their C team thanks to a maximum from Hoss Ashraf and Matt Deadman.

Beechdown C beat Totally Tennis C 5-3 and the Oakley B team of Lee Childs/Richard Baxter and Gemal AlNoah/Clive Mills saw off the newest team to the league Hartley Wintney 8-0.

Goodworth Clatford got off to a good start with three wins in the Ladies Division One. They beat Totally Tennis A and Mortimer A 5-3 and RSF 7-1, Julie Frankland/Sally Cackett and Tina Wood/Jordan Mosquero gave Hampshire Court an 8-0 win against Odiham A in their opening match.

Karen McKenzie and Keren Bailey were unbeaten for Aldermaston in their 7-1 success at Winchester. Beechdown A also won at Winchester 6-2, but Winchester did draw at Odiham. Helen Townsend and Jo Jones won all their sets for Mortimer in a draw with RSF.

Andover have yet to drop a set after their first three matches in Division Two with 8-0 wins against Whitchurch, Totally Tennis B and Mortimer B. Hampshire Court B and Old Basing are both unbeaten after two matches apiece.

Hampshire Court beat Beechdown C 6-2 thanks to a maximum from Maria Saunders and Jo Quick, while Chris Tudor and Lynne Thomas were unbeaten for Old Basing in their 6-2 win at Beechdown B.

The team of Rachel Marchant/Jo Newell-Kochli and Ali Porter/Julie Keefe gave Beechdown B an 8-0 win against their C team. A maximum from Amy Wigham and Jacqui Black gave Totally Tennis B a 6-2 win against Beechdown C.

Both Old Basing A and Overton A have started with two wins each in Mixed Division One.

Old Basing beat RSF A 6-2 and their team of Sandie Benham/Phil Dixon and Penny Luke/Jamie Thomas followed that up with an 8-0 success at Aldermaston.

Meanwhile, the Overton team of Nina McCann/Liam Hignett and Isla Hignett/Kieran Heighes had an 8-0 win against Goodworth Clatford and they then beat Odiham 5-3.

Rowena Thorne/Nick Baldwin and Ros Hursell/Chris Pugh gave Goodworth Clatford an 8-0 win against Aldermaston A and Chris Ball and Andrea Butcher were unbeaten for Beechdown A in their 7-1 win against RSF A.

Aldermaston won 6-2 at Odiham A. Totally Tennis A have taken charge of Division Two after 3 straight wins. They beat Mortimer A 7-1, with Rex Groves and Helen Judd winning all their sets, Hook 6-2 and Beechdown B 5-3.

Oakley A beat their B team 5-3 who then went onto win 6-2 against RSF B thanks to a maximum from David Burrell and Jenny Rust.

The Beechdown B team of Ali Coughlan/Paul Ayres and Julie Keefe/Matt Deadman won 8-0 at Hook and the Beechdown team also won 5-3 against Mortimer A.

Jack Vince/Helen Townsend and Andrew Richardson/Jo Jones gave Mortimer A an 8-0 win against Hook.

Old Basing B have yet to drop a set in Division Three after two 8-0 wins against Preston Candover and Aldermaston B with the pairing of Andrew and Tina Wood being unbeaten in both matches.

Kingsclere have also started with two successes with victories over Odiham B 8-0 and Mortimer B 6-2 with Linda O’Leary and Alan Curtis winning all their sets.

Kieran Hughes and Karen Ollive were unbeaten for Overton B in their 7-1 win against Aldermaston B. Whitchurch lead div 4 after 8-0 wins against Waverley and away at Hartley Wintney thanks to their team of Luis Morris/Emma Langton and Huw Compton/Julie Bourne.

Hampshire Court B won 7-1 against Waverley, thanks to a maximum from Simon Woodall and Jo Quick and also beat Old Basing C 6-2.

Steve Kilgannon and Amy Wigham gave Totally Tennis B a 7-1 win against Old Basing C but then lost by the same score against Waverley who had Luke Watts and Kelsey Mosquera to thank as they won all their sets.

Hartley Wintney secured their first point in the League with a draw against Odiham C for whom Roberta Allen and Lee Aubrey got a maximum.
