BASINGSTOKE Hockey Club’s men’s first team maintained their unbeaten record with a 5-2 victory away at Southampton.
The visitors were awarded an early penalty stroke, but David Stones’ flick hit the post.
He quickly made amends, scoring from a tight angle, and the lead was doubled by Grant Rouse’s penalty flick.
Dean Record made it 3-0 from a short corner, before Southampton scored either side of the break.
Basingstoke added a fourth goal as Dan Bowden and Rouse combined for David Montgomery to score, before Jed Mills completed a 5-2 win.
The second team won 5-0 against visiting Havant, as Ben Shaughnessy netted a hat-trick and there were single strikes for Will Jewkes and Josh Weir.
The fifth team lost 2-0 away to City of Portsmouth, despite strong work in midfield by Matthew Kingston and fine goalkeeping from Harry Spicer.
The ladies first team continued their winning streak, triumphing 6-2 away at Guildford.
Fi Parker netted the first, before Guildford equalised, but Catriona Bausor scored twice to make it 3-1.
After the break, Scarborough netted from a short corner and then Parker got her second. Guildford pulled another goal back, but Parker completed her hat-trick to make it 6-2.
The third team won 5-1 against Aldershot and Farnham. Leanne Smith, Kirsty Brown, Amy Bennett, Ellie Pearson and Catherine Woodcliffe all scored.
