THE BASINGSTOKE'S Summer Darts League held its annual doubles event last week.

There was a tournament for each of the three divisions and Graham Hardy and Roy Brown of Oakridge GB were the Division One title winners.

Academy Dart Vaders Neil Winkworth and Chris Prestleton came out on top in Division Two, while Darren Read and Paul Oliver of the Rising Sun claimed the Division Three crown.

Oakridge’s Hardy and Brown won their title at the Academy, thanks to a 3-1 victory over the Rugby Club’s Craig French and Richie Waite.

In the semi-finals, the winners defeated Dave Owen and John Steeden (Railway Misfits) 2-0.

French and Waite beat Dave Martin and Alan Musgrove (Rucstall Club) 2-1.

Winkworth and Prestleton took the Division Two title with a narrow 3-2 victory over Railway Posties’ pair Tim Malins and Conn McIlvenney in the final at the Wote Street Club.

In the semi-finals, Winkworth and Prestleton beat Rob Stewart and Alan Hockley (Sherfield WH) 3-1.

Malins and McIlvenney had a 3-0 success over Academy Imports pair Dave Stuart and Stuart Martin (Academy Imports).

Reed and Oliver won the Division Three title at the Railway Club after a thrilling 3-2 final win over the Academy Dark Knights pair of Dave Farmer and Stuart Mitchell.

Reed and Oliver made the final after an easier 3-0 semi-final win over Gary Choppen and Adam Sherman (New Inn Sinners).

In the other semi, Farmer and Mitchell beat Darren Webb and Mike Burnby (The Rising Sun) 3-1 to claim the other final spot.
