ADVENTURE AS are through to the final of the National Supercup competition.

The Basingstoke-based outfit filled the last qualifying place to earn themselves a trip to Barston Lakes, near Solihull in Warwickshire. Let’s hope the Basingstoke-based outfit that the team can do better than Kennet Ospreys’ third place in the same competition five years ago.

Twenty-five Kennet Ospreys went to Dandy’s Ford Lake last Sunday, where venue ace Pete Newman won from fancied peg 19 with 111lb 4oz of carp on two plus two and pellet.

Mick (Peppa) Donohoe caught 100lb of carp on pole carp and paste for second spot. Simon Couling’s 84lb was good enough for third.

Camrose AC fished MBK coloured ponds for their latest match and Pete Morris topped out with 32lb 6oz of carp on pole and pellet. Bill Atkinson’s 20lb 1oz was a pole and pellet jobby. Brian Orchard utilised the same tactic for his 12lb 13oz.

Bill Atkinson didn’t worry about getting drenched with the rain as he had to plunge into the lake to retrieve the top four sections of his pole.

Basingstoke Railway Club piscatorials were at New Barlows Lake last Sunday, where a certain Peter Howes fluked a win with 24lb 2oz of bream and carp on pole and soft pellet over groundbait. Staceys supremo Keith Brown’s carp bag fell to pole and expander pellet tactics and weighed 18lb 12oz. Lyn Matthews’ 17lb of margin caught carp was next. Sixteen fished and caught.

Adventure AS went to Cove Pit last Sunday, where Dave Stratford-Way topped out with 151lb 8oz of carp on pole and meat. Graham Shadwell used two plus two and meat for his 109lb 4oz of carp. Alan Chadbone pole and corned it for his 104lb of carp. Twenty-one fished and caught.
