IT HAS been a good couple of weeks for North Hampshire Road Club’s Charlie Taylor.

The 18-year-old finished 11th in the elite men’s race at the Wallingford Festival of Cycling and also won two time-trial events organised by his club.

Taylor clocked 53min 44sec on the club’s 25-mile course based at Aldermaston, finishing well clear of second-placed Andre Posthuma, who stopped the clock at 57:47. Pete Harris of Andover Wheelers was third in 58:19, with Tracey Cornell the fastest lady in 1.06:47.

Taylor’s excellent form continued as he won a 10-mile event on the same course, recording a personal-best time of 20:49.

Phil Watts was 10 seconds slower in second, with Alex Peterson (Handsling RT) third in 21:43. Susan Parker was the fastest lady in 25:25.
