ADVENTURE AS travelled to Gold Valley Gold Lake on Sunday last, where Mick Fordham topped out with 68lb 8oz of carp on bomb and pellet.

Steve Pawson had a good day’s fishing on the pole and meat netting 55lb 10oz of skimmers. Consistent Graham Shadwell employed the bomb and method feeder for his 43lb 8oz of carp, while Colin Shepherd caught 39lb 12oz of carp on various methods.

Twenty-seven fished and caught.

Twenty-three Kennet Ospreys tried their luck at Whitmore Farm last Sunday, and venue expert Mark (Red) Funnel took the honours, more than doubling his nearest rivals’ weight with 112lb 12oz of carp on the sinking pellet waggler. Simon Kiefer used the method feeder and wag for his 55lb 8oz of carp. Phil Tiller made third with 53lb on the pellet waggler, with Andy Leith making up the frame on 50lb 12oz.

Not all caught on a patchy venue.

Basingstoke Railway piscatorials went to an out of form Whitehouse Lake last Saturday, where Alan Wells sprinted into number one position with 17lb of mixed on pole and corn. Jack Hearn also used pole and corn for his 13lb of mixed. Trevor Matthews was next on 8lb 8oz, the same weight as John Hooley.

Camrose AC went to Cove Pit for their latest match.

Guest angler John Timney did the business with 48lb 7oz of carp on pole and meat. Paul Bassinder utilised pole and corn for his 45lb 11oz of carp. Match secretary Pip Seeny was next with 42lb 8oz, with Brian Orchard fourth on 39lb 2oz.

Staceys match group fished at New Barlows Lake last Sunday, where Steve Davis snookered the field with 30lb 6oz of mixed on two plus two and caster. Paul Cripps caught 27lb 6oz of mixed for second place, followed by Scott Butler on 26lb 3oz, and Tadley Angling’s Kevin Roberts’ 19lb 12oz.

Oxoid AC went to Witherington Farm last week, and Harry Roach won it with 34lb 12oz of mixed on pole and pellet. Blast from the past Cos Izzo caught 27lb 1oz for second spot, followed by Nick Hillier on 19lb 8oz.

Last Wednesday’s Whitehouse wangle saw John Timney win with 18lb 2oz. Darren Wright came second on 11lb 10oz, with Darren Brown Third on 9lb 2oz.
