BASINGSTOKE Kickboxing Organisation fighters enjoyed success at the Birmingham Kwon tournament.

Kat Dhillon fought in the ladies’ novice section and despite having a calf injury managed to power her way to a gold. She then entered the intermediate section, where she reached the second round, before winning the veterans’ section.

Vinnie Turner entered the men’s novice section and dominated, winning gold. He was then pipped in the final of the intermediate section.

George Peploe fought in two senior sections and although he reached the final in both, he had to settle for a pair of silver medals.

BKO also took a team to the Eastleigh Glam Slam.

In the junior section Charlotte Evans fought through several rounds and won a three-way final, while Tianna Partridge won her section comfortably and Aimee Evans finished third.

In the senior events Michelle Reese won the beginners’ section and narrowly lost in the final of the advanced section before taking gold in the continuous/light contact sparring section.

Ian Clare showed his class to win the novice men’s section, beating team-mate Graham Monnier in the final. Sean Adams completed a one-two-three for the club.

Jimmy Pedrick dominated the men’s section and also won the continuous section, with Marc Watson coming third.

The junior team of Reagan Partridge, Charlotte Evans and Aimee Evans cruised to gold, a feat matched by the senior team of Andy Partridge, Pedrick and Reese.
