THE National Supercup competition got under way last weekend, with both Adventure AS and Kennett Ospreys AC entering teams.

Adventure were at Greenridge Farm for their round, where they crushed the opposition by winning all six sections and totalling 316lb 2oz to Thatcham’s 91lb 4oz.

The Adverture team was made up of Rob Gallagher, Jake Gallagher, Graham Spiller, Gary Herman, Graham Shadwell and Sean Shiles.

Kennet Ospreys fished against Feltham Piscatorials at Line Lake and got well and truly walloped, losing five of the six sections. In a skimmer and silver fish-dominated match, they got the tactics wrong.

Feltham totalled 81lb 8oz to Ospreys 36lb 10oz.

The Ospreys’ team was made up of captain Andrew Grand-jean, Ray Shepherd, Pat Hollies, Mark Parsons, Antony Thomas and Bartosz Recki.

New Barlows Lake fished surprisingly well for the Camrose AC match last Sunday.

Chris Hopgood topped out with 51lb 15oz of carp on pole and pellet. Brian Orchards’ 19lb 12oz was again carp on pole and pellet.

Colin Thomas caught 19lb 10oz of bream on pole and maggot, whilst Darren (Dodgy) Brown made up the frame on 16lb 5oz. In total, 12 fished and caught.

Adventure AS went to the Kennet and Avon Canal for their latest club match, where Tony Franklin topped out with 6lb 10oz, two bream and two perch on pole and caster.

Steve Davis took second place with six skimmers totalling 3lb 5oz on pole and pinkie, Sean Shiles caught one bream on caster for his 3lb 2oz, whilst Dave Butler’s 2lb 5oz was enough for fourth. All 10 who fished caught.

Kennet Ospreys match at Greenridge Farm put Simon (the God) Kiefer on the prime podium place with 64lb of carp on pole and meat.

Graham Shadwell put pole and paste to good use, netting 62lb 4oz of carp. Steve Shepherd’s 61lb 12oz was caught on pole and corn, whilst Roger Beale fished pellet at 16 metres for his 53lb 14oz.

In total, 15 fished and Camouflage Jim not only blanked, but packed up early in case he got locked in again.

Ashmore Copse continues to chuck up reasonable catches, with carp up to 17lb.

The new Stacey’s permits are now available, giving you five fisheries in Tadley for £60 per season or £40 it you are an OAP, junior or disabled. Day tickets are also available to permit holders only.

No ’Er indoorisms this week as she’s done nothing over Easter. I will have to have a word.
