NORTH Hampshire Road Club held a double header weekend of time trials, with the first being an open event around their 18.2-mile Dummer circuit.

There were 44 entries from right across the southern region and the winner was veteran rider Pete Tadros (IN-Gear Quickvit Trainsharp RT), who blasted around the course in 41mins 16secs.

James Lowden (Neon Velo) was second in 41:45 and was also the fastest senior rider. GS Henley rider Peter Harrison (42:01) came in third.

From the local area, North Hampshire Road Club rider Phil Watts (42:49) was fifth overall and second veteran rider. The fastest lady was Newbury RC’s Rachael Elliot in 46.07.

Other North Hampshire Road Club riders to compete in the event were Andy Hibberd (47:12), Andy Self (47:46), Tony Parker (50:27) and Stuart Carver (51:33) The following day, eight riders turned out for the club’s 17-mile club time trial on the Beech Hill circuit.

Watts (41:14) showed no signs of tiredness as he was the first rider home by a large margin over clubmate Andre Posthuma (45.27).

After co-promoting the Open event the previous day, Richie Bremner (47:03) rode to third place, while fastest lady was Open promoter Tracey Cornell in 49:25.
