ADVENTURE AS went to Frobury Farm for their latest fixture and it was Martin Wickens who topped out with 57lb 14oz of carp on pole and pellet.

Mick Fordham’s 45lb 2oz of carp was a pole and corn jobby. Fred Gill employed a similar method for his 41lb 4oz, as did Alan Chadbone for 31lb.

Twenty-two fished and caught.

Basingstoke Railway piscatorials took themselves to Cheriton Farm. With the wind making life difficult for most of the competitors, a low scoring match was on the cards.

Keith Brown did best. Utilising the back of an island and fishing at 16 metres on banded pellet, he caught 36lb 6oz of carp.

I caught 23lb 12oz of carp for second spot, while Lynn Mathews finished in front of her husband Trevor yet again, with 21lb 8oz to his 20lb 8oz.

Several umbrellas were broken, plus four pole sections.

Eighteen fished, some did not weigh.

Kennet Ospreys went to Willow Park for their fixture, and Simon Kiefer won yet again with 70lb 8oz of carp on the pole on maggot in the margin. Bob Poulton fished with meat on the straight lead for his 64lb 6oz of carp. Graham Shadwell put the method to good use for his 45lb 2oz, while Steve Hunt’s 44lb 8oz made fourth spot.

Camrose AS went to Soke Road last Sunday and Brian Orchard scored with 33lb 9oz of carp on pole and pellet. Bill Atkinson’s 16lb 6oz was a pole pellet and mixed affair. Pip Seeny’s 14lb 8oz was mixed on pole and mag, while Darren Brown caught 13lb 10oz.

Ten fished and caught.

Adventure’s match at Willow Pool saw Rob Gallagher win with 22lb 4oz of carp on the method. Gary Herman fished the method and pole for his 20lb 4oz. Dave Stratford-Way put 13lb 6oz in the sack, followed by Nick Sargent’s 13lb.

Twelve fished and caught.

Ospreys went to Billhook Lake last week and Gerry Nickells made a welcome return, winning with 85lb of carp on the feeder. Anthony Thomas fished all methods for his 64lb 12oz, Ray Shepherd’s 56lb 4oz came next, followed by Simon Kiefer with 51lb.

Twenty-three fished and caught.

Last week’s Camrose match put Brian Orchard on the podium with 22lb 8oz. Pete Morris was second on 10lb 12oz. Paul Hunt caught 7lb 10oz.

Old Barlows was the venue, and 10 fished.

’Er indoors is going to be busy complying with the new council rules on rubbish collection. Everything has to be sorted into types of waste, so she will have to get up earlier to make sure it’s done right.
