LODDON Vale beat Torbay 86-81 to book their place in the Wessex League quarter-finals, where they will meet Clarrie Dunbar from Frome.
Last Saturday’s friendly match was a local affair against Oakley with Loddon, winning 166-145.
The cub’s winning rinks were skipped by Mick Jones (19-17), Jim Rainbow (18-15), John Hilton (27-16) and Alan Tait (40-4).
The losing rinks were Karen Winter (22-14), Brian Ambler (17-16), Margaret Coutts (31-13) and Arthur Peters (23-19).
The following day, Loddon enjoyed a friendly victory, 119-98 over Tongham.
Their winning rinks were Fred Goddard (18-17), Ambler (19-12), Arthur Peters (27-13) and Steve Foyle (31-10).
The losing rinks were John Licence (23-12) and Frank Fuller (21-12).
