LODDON Vale ladies produced a good result in the Riversmeet as they overcame the Five Rivers club from Salisbury 94-54 last Saturday.
On Saturday, Vale lost a friendly by just 14 shots to West Berks at Newbury, going down 124-110.
Vale’s winning rinks were skipped by Jim Rainbow (30-20), Fred Goddard (22-16) and John Licence (20-19).
The losing rinks were Brian Ambler (26-18), Mick Jones (28-5) and Bernie Rouse (25-15).
Sunday’s game against Basingstoke Town saw the Vale triumph 129-92.
Their three winning rinks were Ian Laming (37-7), Paul Knowles (25-10) and Fred Goddard (17-15).
Arthur Peters (16-16) and Alan Tait (22-22) drew, while Frank Fuller (24-12) skipped the only rink to suffer defeat.
On Monday, the club entertained a team from the Isle of Wight in a match of two halves.
The island side were winning at tea but Vale then took control of the match, eventually running out 156-134 winners.
The winning rinks were led by the impressive Karen Winter (29-13), Ray Ogg (19-16), Peters (24-17), Ambler (25-16) and Rainbow (24-14).
Sheila Girle’s rink drew 16-16, while the losing rinks were Laming (23-11) and Fuller (19-9).
The Wessex League play-offs start on Sunday, with Vale drawn against Western Division runners-up Torbay.
