FATHER and daughter Gerry Reilly and Sian Reilly made it a family double in the officials category, taking the senior and junior awards.

Gerry, from Whitchurch, is the driving force behind WTF Taekwondo in the area and judges at national level poomsae competitions.

He was also one of only six British judges selected to officiate at the Commonwealth Taekwondo Champion-ships.

He is the first martial arts winner of the Senior Official Award and said: “I am absolutely delighted to win what was a very strong category.”

The 53-year-old added: “Making it a family double with my youngest daughter makes it extra-special and it was really unexpected.”

His daughter Sian is a corner judge and has followed in her father’s footsteps. She picked up the Junior Official Award The 16-year-old, who studies at Queen Mary’s College, said: “I am really pleased to win the award and I really enjoy competing as well as judging.”
