KENNET Ospreys went to Bowsaw Lake on Sunday last, where Ian Jones topped out with 95lb of carp on pole and wag using a variety of baits.

Anthony Thomas was runner-up on 66lb 8oz using pole and pellet for his all carp bag. John Jackson put pole and corn to good use for his 57lb 8oz, while Steve Telford made up the frame with 57lb 6oz of carp.

Twenty fished and caught.

Adventure AS travelled to Milton Pools for their latest fixture, and it was Graham Spiller who won the match with 51lb 4oz of carp on pole and corn. Rob Gallagher fished the same method for his 43lb 12oz of carp, while Mark Blackmon’s 42lb 8oz of carp was a pole and pellet affair. Dave Stratford-Way came next with 39lb 8oz.

Eleven fished and caught.

Camrose AC went to New Barlows Lake for their latest match, and Paul Hunt did the business with 22lb 11oz of pole and maggot caught carp. Bill Gordon made second spot, his with 21lb 7oz of mixed on the feeder and maggot. Match secretary Pip Seeny landed 20lb 8oz.

Ten fished and caught.

Staceys match group fished at Cheriton Farm last Sunday, where Sam Skilton scored with 42lb 8oz of carp on pole and meat. Steve Davis pole and magged it for his 37lb of carp. Staceys’ supremo Keith Brown used pole and pellet waggler for his 22lb, while Scott Butler caught 19lb 2oz.

Fourteen fished, and Paul (Ducky) Cripps blanked.

Last week’s Kennet Ospreys’ match, at Greenridge Farm, saw Steve Shepherd top out with 115lb 12oz of carp on pole and maggot. Roger Beal employed the same method for his 106lb. Graham Shadwell put 91lb of carp on the scales using pole and paste, while Steve Hunt’s 85lb was good enough for fourth.

Sixteen fished and caught.

Adventures’ recent match, at Soke Road Lake, saw Kevin Smith run out the winner with 38lb 4oz of carp on pole and corn, the same method used by runner-up Nick Sargent for his 19lb 14oz of carp. Trevor Tarrant pole and magged it for his 14lb 2oz, while it was back to the pole and corn for Alan Chadbone and his 13lb 11oz of mixed.

Seventeen fished and caught.

Camrose AC went to Frobury Farm Lake Two recently, where Rob Frost won it with 37lb 8oz of carp on pole and pellet. Paul Hunt’s 26lb 9oz of carp was a pole and meat affair. Brian Orchard made third place on 24lb 2oz of carp on pole and pellet, while Paul Bassinder used pole and worm for his 22lb 9oz.

Fifteen fished and caught.

After my stint as a guest of the health service ’er indoors decided I should go on a diet. After consulting the Internet and reading copious volumes of literature on the subject, I am now looking out of my patio doors watching the birds gorging themselves on fat balls and nuts while I am on a starvation diet.
