LODDON Vale enjoyed their second win of the season in the Wessex Bowls League as they beat leaders Westlecot 80-74.

Trevor Morgan’s team won the match thanks to a brilliant 31-11 shot victory that helped Loddon to an 11-5 win overall.

Neil Clark drew his rink 16-16, while their losing rinks were skipped by Fred Norris (25-17) and Steve Shaw (22-16).

In friendly action, Loddon lost 121-93 to Egham.

Their winning rinks were skipped by Mick Jones (19-12), Brian Ambler (23-16) and Judy Foyle (18-16), while Steve Foyle drew 16-16. The losing rinks were Ernie Sparrowhawk (33-6) and Sheila Girle (21-11).

Loddon then lost 172-81 away at Wey Valley as all the visitors’ rinks lost.

Sparrowhawk went down 27-17, Jones 29-18, Peter Grant 25-13, Jim Rainbow 26-13, Sheila Girle 28-13 and John Hilton 37-7.
