BASINGSTOKE Bluefins Masters swimmers were in top form at the Hampshire championships last month, claiming the Top Club trophy for the fifth consecutive year.

A team of 29 swimmers made the trip to Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre for the event, winning 66 individual gold, 28 silver and 27 bronze medals, with several Hampshire records broken along the way.

They also claimed two gold, three silver and a bronze medal in the relay events to finish way ahead of second-placed City of Southampton at the top of the standings.

Brendan Giltinane won the Top Man award, just ahead of Steve Greenfield, with Spencer Turner and Gerry McElroy also making the top 10. Two Bluefins were in the top 10 in the Top Lady award, with Fleur Parker coming fourth and Michelle Matson sixth.
