THERE was a major surprise in Whitchurch Bowls League Division One, as bottom club Alton beat unbeaten Littleton Leopards 53-51.
This was followed by third-from-bottom Hyde Abbey A beating second-placed Kingsclere Quails 51-48, while last week’s second-bottom side, Alton Social, hammered hosts Andover B 75-44.
Basingstoke Spades went second after beating Howard Park A 55-44, while St Mary Bourne Hawks beat Oakley A 66-42.
Whitchurch Yellows maintained their grip on Division Two by beating Howard Park C away 56-41. Marnell B stay second despite being beaten 31-28 by visiting Whitchurch Blacks.
The other two matches saw Oakley B beat St Mary Bourne Eagles 46-45 and Andover A beat Old Basing 59-56.
Basingstoke Diamonds have opened up an 11-point gap in Division Three after overcoming Thornycroft A 50-41. Basingstoke Town’s Jokers went down 59-42 away at Hook Foxes and Kingsclere Partridges beat Friary 69-47.
Andover C remain top in Division Four after destroying bottom team Howard Park B by 71 shots to 42.
Oakley C went second by beating St Mary Bourne Merlins 58-46, while Littleton Lemurs are third after beating Old Basing Royalists 46-29.
Basingstoke Town held on to the lead in the Central Division of the Stan Hardman League despite losing 47-39 to Marnell A.
AWRE B stay second despite losing 54-49 to Fleet Cygnets, but Howard Park A closed the gap following their 68-47 win over Thornycroft. The other result saw Odiham D beat Hook Diamonds 63-53.
Hook Saphires increased their lead in the Southern Division to 10 points following their 59-47 win against Howard Park B. Alton jumped three places after beating Odiham X 57-48. Alton Social beat Old Basing 51-48.
Kingsclere hung on to top spot in the Western Division with a 56-33 win at Oakley. Howard Park C remain bottom despite beating Andover 45-41.
Medstead won 56-45 at St Mary Bourne and Whitchurch beat AWRE A 70-53.
