LODDON Vale men’s run in the Wessex League play-offs came to an abrupt end as they lost 75-66 to Bournemouth last Sunday.
The same can be said of the other teams from the Eastern Division, as West Berks lost 90-72 against Kingsthorpe from Northampton and Westlecot went down 67-66 to Plymouth.
Loddon Vale ladies played their last match of the season in the Riversmeet and lost narrowly to Atherley (81-79).
Their winning rinks were skipped by Karen Winter (25-13) and Kay Kerley (21-18), while Sheila Stone drew 22-22 and their losing rink was Tina Rogers (28-11).
Oakley beat Vale 136-132 in a friendly last Saturday, despite winning rinks from Ernie Sparrowhawk (18-15), Ian Laming (24-10), Terry Jones (20-13) and Steve Shaw (20-9).
Alan Tait’s rink drew 17-17, while the losing rinks were Frank Fuller (26-10), John Holmes (19-14) and John Dalloway (27-9).
