WHITCHURCH United boss Carl Bennett was furious, after he saw his side reduced to 10 men in farcical circumstances.

The Jam Boys looked to be cruising to victory at Bournemouth Poppies, after they took a 2-0 lead.

However, this was when their troubles started. Whitchurch player Corey Cherrett went to take a drink from the visiting dug out, which meant he was standing in Poppies half, as they kicked off.

Whitchurch's Scott Hassell pointed this out to the referee and was booked.

Three minutes, Hassell on goal kicking duty after goalkeeper Damon Hack suffered an ankle injury.

He twice put the ball down only to see it roll away in the strong wind. As he went to take it a third time, Hassell received a second yellow card for time wasting and was dismissed.

The Poppies took advantage of a side now in disarray in the final 10 minutes and scored twice to steal a point.

Earlier in the contest, Luke Walker and Jamie Mansell, both scored for the Jam Boys.

Bennett said: "This was definitely two points dropped. I was so anger after the game, as how we have had player sent off is beyond me."

Tonight, Whitchurch have a local derby game with Andover.

Then on Saturday, they entertain Brockenhurst.
