DANNY Phillips scored a brace as Whitchurch United smashed Bournemouth 7-3 at Longmeadow last Wednesday.

The striker picked up man-of-the-match for his two goal performance in the Wessex Premier League match-up, just ahead of team mates Rudy Plummer and Dave Parry who both scored braces.

Scott Hassell was also on the score-sheet for United, who have now thrashed the Poppies twice this season after beating them 6-0 in the FA Vase in October.

On Saturday, the Jam Boys came unstuck as they lost 2-1 at Sholing, with Parry on target again.

Tomorrow night, Whitchurch who are 13th in the Wessex League Premier Division, are at home to Follard Sports and then on Saturday they are at Longmeadow again, when Newport (IoW) are the visitors.
