A BRETT Denham double secured Tadley Calleva promotion to the Wessex League Premier Division as they beat visiting Laverstock and Ford 2-0 last Saturday.

This was Tadley’s ninth win on the trot as they claimed third spot in the Wessex League Division One.

Denham struck in the opening 45 minutes and then again after the break to take his tally to 199 Wessex League Division One goals for Tadley this season.

At the final whistle, the celebrations began and Tadley Calleva boss was jubilant after guiding his side into the Premier Division.

Dolan said: "I am absolutely over the moon for everyone at the club. This was our aim at the start of the season and to go on such a great run at the end of the season was superb. Full credit should go to the players. We looked out of when we lost at US Portsmouth, but we just kept on winning."

Dolan joined Tadley in season 2011/12 when they were near the bottom of the league and turned things around with a couple of top three finishes as well as cup wins and of course the scalp of Basingstoke Town in the Hampshire Senior Cup.

however, the boss was clear that this was his best achievement to date as a manager of the team.

Dolan said: "Promotion means everything and it is being consistent over 34 games."

On Monday night, Tadley lost their final meaningless league game at Fawley 2-0. Their cause was not helped as centre half Scott Kinge was forced to go into goal after goalkeeper Freddie Gee broke a finger.

The season is still not over for Tadley as they are away on Monday in the semi-final of the North Hants Senior Cup against Alresford.

Dolan said: "They are a good premier side and it will be a tough ask, but we will give it our best shot."
