BRETT Denham scored four times as second placed Tadley Calleva kept the pressure up on Wessex League Division One leaders Andover New Street, with a 6-1 win over visiting Alton.

The home side had early chances from Denham and Coventry, before Alton's Max Paddon hit the post.

Tadley's man of the match Alex Charlick was the next to test the visiting goalkeeper.

Alton then took the lead from the penalty spot thanks to Taylor Watts, after Mark Corbett was brought down in the area by Connor Thorne.

However, a Denham double had Tadley ahead by the break, the first coming after a great through ball from Tom Walsh.

After the break, there was only one side in the contest, as Tadley scored four without reply.

Denham completed a straight hat-trick and then fellow striker Paul Coventry netted the next.

Denham's fourth followed to take the score to 5-1.

The home side's Sam Hamilton then hit the bar, before sub Daryll Phillips completed the scoring.

A delighted manager Danny Dolan said: "We really dominated the second half and deserved the win. We are taking each game, one at time at the moment and Scott Kinge is back from suspension for Saturday's trip to eighth placed New Milton."
