TADLEY Calleva proudly sit on top of the Wessex League Division One, after Tuesday night’s 5-0 derby win over Whitchurch United.
Tadley boss Danny Dolan was delighted and said: "I could not ask for more with five straight wins, but there is a long way to go."
Whitchurch manager Carl Bennett was full of praise for Tadley and said: "We did not play bad, but they were clinical. They played the ball around us and can't see any team being better than them in this league."
Despite losing, the Jam Boys had the first chances from Andre Manders and Dave Panter was denied by a great save from Craig Atkinson.
The home side then took the lead from Connor Thorne, before Brett Denham and Paul Coventry’s penalty made it 3-0 at the break. Dan Vickers hammered scored a fourth and Coventry completed the win.
The new leaders entertain Weymouth Reserves on Saturday with injured pair George Hallahan and Kieron Greene in contention for a starting spot.
Whitchurch will hope to bounce back to winning ways when Verwood are the visitors to Longmeadow.
