TADLEY Calleva maintained their unbeaten start to the season by taking the Wessex Premier scalp of visiting Cowes Sports in Hampshire Senior Cup last night.
The home side raced into a 2-0 lead as Sam Hamilton scored the opener and then turned provider for Connor Thorne to net the second.
The island side then had a player sent-off missed a penalty as Tadley still led by two goals at the break.
Cowes reduced the lead to one, but a Aaron Parfitt strike three minutes from time won the game, even if Cowes scored in the final minute.
The reward is another home tie on Tuesday, September 19 when another Premier side in Bashley will visit.
A delighted manager Danny Dolan said: "It was great to take a premier scalp and hopefully we take another in the next round."
Tadley return to league action on Saturday with a trip to Downton and then entertain local rivals Whitchurch on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
