TADLEY Calleva were Wessex League Cup giantkillers, as they beat one of the favourites for the competition Blackfield and Langley 3-2.

The visiting high flying Premier Division side took the lead, but by half-time Tadley were level.

Some lovely football saw Sam Hamilton go down the left flank and he sent in a low cross which 17-year-old Conner Thorne converted.

After the break, Blackfield took the lead again, but again a really nice move saw Thorne the provider for Brett Denham to score on the turn.

The home side defence then stood tall, before Sam Hamilton scored the winner eight minutes from time.

A delighted Tadley manager Danny Dolan said: "It was a great game of football and I think it was our best performance of the season. I hope we can carry this on this weekend at home to Christchurch."

On Tuesday night, Tadley will be hoping to book a place in the final of the North Hants Senior Cup, when Winchester Castle are the visitors.
