WESSEX League Division One outfit Tadley Calleva put up an excellent performance before losing 3-2 in extra -time at premier side Moneyfields in the Wessex League Cup.

The Portsmouth side took the lead after 30 minutes, but the introduction of teenagers David Panter and Daniel Charsley proved to be a master stroke by boss Danny Dolan, as 16-year-old Panter scored the equaliser with his first touch.

With no further scoring the game went into extra time and Moneyfields took a 2-1, but sub Panter struck again direct from a corner to make it 2-2.

Then with three minutes left, a wonderful 25-yard strike beat 17-year-old Adam Smith on his debut and won the game for the home side.

After the match, manager Dolan said: "We really gave a good account of ourselves and it is brilliant to be able to finish the game with three teenagers on the pitch."

Tonight, Tadley are back in league action with a trip to Laverstock and Ford.
