WHITCHURCH United ended the game with nine men as they were beaten 6-2 away at Newport (IOW) on Saturday.

The Jam Boys fell behind in the first half but levelled through Jack McCarthy before the break.

However, they conceded two goals early in the second half and then had both McCaulie Stubbs and Andre Manders sent off.

Newport took advantage, scoring three more goals, and while Bradley Snelling netted from the penalty spot late on, it was little consolation for the visitors.

The defeat leaves Whitchurch 14th in the Wessex League Division One table heading into a home game against Verwood Town, who sit 17th, this Saturday.
