TADLEY Calleva were unable to cause another upset in the Hampshire Senior Cup last night, losing 1-0 to visiting Aldershot Town.

A crowd of 192 were at Barlow's Park to see Wessex League Division One outfit Tadley host National League side Aldershot.

Tadley had earned their place in the second round of the competition by beating Hartley Wintney on penalties a week earlier, but they were unable to cause another shock.

Aldershot used the game as an opportunity to rest key players, but they scored the only goal of the game after just four minutes, Cameron Karembo heading home.

The visitors dominated the rest of the first half and could have extended the lead before the break, but Tadley remained in the game and only a string of saves from visiting goalkeeper Dan Thomas prevented them from levelling in the second period.

Tadley return to league action on Saturday, travelling to Downton, who sit fifth in the table.

Calleva have made a slow start to their league campaign, taking just four points from their first three games, and they will be keen to get their promotion challenge on track.
