DANNY Phillips bagged a brace as Whitchurch United shocked Salisbury in front of more than 800 people at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium last night.

The game was newly-formed Salisbury's first at home and 809 supporters turned out to watch the game.

It seemed to be going according to the script when Kane O'Keefe put the home side ahead after 38 minutes, but Whitchurch were able to spoil the party.

Phillips finished off an excellent counter-attack to level things just before half-time and while both sides had chances in the second half, it was Whitchurch who grabbed the winning goal.

Again Phillips was the scorer, taking advantage of a mix-up in the Salisbury defence to fire home with 15 minutes remaining.

The result leaves Whitchurch 10th in the formative Wessex League Premier Division table, but they take an early break from league action on Saturday, hosting Western League outfit Wincanton Town in an FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round tie.
