AFTER missing out on promotion by a single point last season, Tadley Calleva have their sights set on going one better this time around.
Tadley had an exceptional season in 2014-15, but the Wessex League Division One campaign ultimately ended in disappointment as they missed out on second place.
Manager Danny Dolan is determined to secure promotion this season and has made some big signings in his quest for glory.
His big captures have come in attack, with strikers Ben Dillon and Ryan Stephens joining from Hartley Wintney. Dolan has also retained the services of last season’s top scorer, Brett Denham, giving him a wealth of striking options.
Centre-back Ben McCready has played in the Southern League for Chippenham, while Carl Self and Sam Hamilton will add experience in midfield.
Dolan said: “I am over the moon with the players I have brought in and now it is just a matter of getting the top two finish we need to get into the Wessex Premier.
“The most difficult thing for me might be keeping all of my players happy. We have got a really strong squad with a lot of firepower.”
Tadley begin the season on Saturday with a trip to Romsey Town.
“After the season we had last year, teams will be looking to knock us off our perch,” Dolan added.
