WHITCHURCH United’s Wessex League Premier Division title hopes suffered a severe setback as they were beaten 4-0 away at 10-man Petersfield Town last night.

The Jam Boys were a goal down at half-time but were still very much in the game when Petersfield were reduced to 10 men in the second half.

However, the hosts made light of their numerical disadvantage, scoring three more goals to win the game fairly comfortably.

Whitchurch remain third in the table, but they are now 10 points behind leaders Petersfield. Next up for the Jam Boys is a trip to Newport (IOW) on Saturday.
