TADLEY Calleva maintained their position at the top of Wessex League Division One with a 4-0 victory over visiting Laverstock and Ford on Saturday.
Ben Wickens scored the only goal of the first half, with captain Scott Kinge doubling the lead after the break.
An injury to goalkeeper Tom Hindmarsh forced Kinge to put on the gloves for the end of the game, but the visitors could not find a way past him.
Brett Denham scored twice in the closing stages to complete a comfortable afternoon for the leaders, while Laverstock and Ford ended the game with 10 men due to a late red card.
Tadley are in action again tomorrow night, travelling to US Portsmouth, but even if they lose, it is likely that they will go into Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash against second-placed Amesbury Town as league leaders.
