HARTLEY Wintney moved back into the play-off positions after a good 3-0 win at in form Thame United.

The Row started on the front foot and it took just four minutes for the first goal to arrive.

A quickly taken corner on the left by Adam was driven low and Liam Eagle saw his right foot flick loop over the home defenders and into the corner of the net.

A minute later a good run by Adam Everiss saw a driven cross which Jake Baxter headed wide. On 7 minutes a good flowing move down the right involving Rowan Vine and Jake Baxter saw Adam Everiss set up. The well struck shot crashed off the crossbar.

Thame came into the game and Dan West fashioned a chance for himself. His well struck effort from 25 yards found Freddie Gee well positioned to save. Hartley responded immediately and added a second goal. Good link up play involving Rowan Vine and Adam Everiss gave Jake Baxter a chance and the striker made no mistake from 15 yards. A minute later Baxter had the ball in the net again but the effort was ruled offside.

Thame responded and on 22 minutes some good interplay saw Dan West set up Lynton Goss who saw his effort blocked. Four minutes later a Lynton Goss corner on the left found the head of Tom Ashworth at the back post who headed over the bar.

The last chance of the half came on 41 minutes for the hosts. Some loose midfield play by the Row allowed Lynton Goss a chance but his parting effort went wide.

The second half saw Thame with much more possession with impressive midfielder Adam Morris dominating proceedings. However the Hartley defence looked solid ; with Liam Eagle and Jack Ball outstanding; and Freddie Gee saw little action.

However it was the hosts who created the first attempt on 60 minutes when a shot from Liam Tack found Freddie Gee well positioned to save.

On 64 minutes with Thame pushing forward an error in their defence saw Adam Everiss and Rowan Vine combine to create a chance. Rowan Vine saw his parting shot saved by keeper Craig Hill. From the resulting corner Jack Ball rose highest and seen his header tipped over by Hill.

However the home side managed to get through the Row defence on 69 minutes giving Aston Goss a chance. Freddie Gee was quickly off his line and blocked the wingers parting shot.

Thame continued to press and on 76 minutes had a good opportunity to reduce the deficit . A free kick on the 18 yard line saw Dan West get the ball over the wall but also the crossbar.

With the home side committed to attack a quick break by the Row saw Jake Baxter set free. The striker held up the play before releasing the overlapping Paul Hodges. The winger rounded Hill but was pulled down by the keeper leaving referee Mr.Forrester no option but to point to the penalty spot.

Dean Stow took the penalty and scored comfortably to complete a 3-0 win.

Joint manager Anthony Millerick said: "We were very aware of Thame's ability and felt we needed to be very aggressive in our own half. In the second half, on a few occasions we went too deep.

He added: "It was a good win. We take one game at a time and now we focus on the Egham game at home on Saturday.

"Both Liam Eagle and Jack Ball had excellent games at the back and Freddie Gee in goal looked assured."
