HARTLEY Wintney will create more club history on Saturday, when they play their first ever FA Trophy tie at Slimbridge.
Slimbridge are eighth in the Southern League Division One West and are trying for the fourth year on the trot to win a home FA Trophy.
Joint manager Daniel Brownlie said: “It’s going to be another great day for the club. It’s a significant one too with it being the first time we’ve played in the competition a moment that won’t be lost on the boys.
“It’s time to put ourselves up against the best, it’s a competition we want to do well in. The manner in which we were knocked out of the FA Cup has given this fixture special meaning too."
Hartley moved level on points with Southern League leaders Moneyfields, who are top by virtue of scoring one more goal, after 6-1 win at Arlesey Town.
This was despite going a goal down, as the Row hit back to lead 3-1 at half-time, thanks to Sam Argent, Jake Baxter and James Tennant .
Hartley added three more after the interval, from Liam Eagle and strikers Argent and Paul Hodges. Steven Duff was forced to play at left back and had an excellent game.
