HARTLEY Wintney further extended their lead at the top of the Combined Counties League Premier Division to 10 points after comfortable 4-1 home win over an enterprising Colliers Wood side.

After a quiet opening, Hartley took the lead on 15 minutes. Shane Hollomby set up Julian Sills on the edge of the penalty box and the centre back's shot went into the net off the post.

Three minutes later, the Row doubled their lead when an accurate cross from Dean Stow on the right was headed in by Sam Argent.

Colliers Wood almost had an instant response on 19 minutes, after a good move down the left wing.

Moses Kadu got on the end of the cross and brought out a good save from Jake Maddock. On 38 minutes, the visitors had another chance, but Theo Woodhouse’s effort went past the post.

A minute later another accurate cross from Stow saw Hollomby head just past the post.

On 40 minutes, Hartley added a third goal.

Goalkeeper Andrew Osei bravely parried at the feet of Hollomby chasing a through ball.

The ball broke to the home side, who quickly set up Argent on the edge of the box. The striker's shot took a deflection and looped over the stranded Osei.

On the half time whistle, Osei produced a good stop from Stow who had been set up by Argent.

It took the visitors just two minutes to reduce the Hartley lead at the start of the second half. Sanchez Benali did well to hold off two Harley defenders on the right and his cross was crashed home by Woodhouse on the edge of the penalty box.

Osei saved from Adam Everiss on 48 minutes and eight minutes later he saved well from a free-kick near the edge of the box taken by Stow.

Colliers Wood then had a good spell and laid siege to the Row goal.

On 57 minutes the influential Benali set up Eli Ogunseye, whose shot crashed off the post.

Non stop pressure saw Jake Maddock punch out, only for Theo Woodhouse to fire in a shot.

The young Hartley custodian pulled off a good save pushing the ball over the bar. The pressure continued and another dangerous cross from Benali was headed just past by Romario Hart.

On 62 minutes, the Row made the game safe with a fourth goal.

A long free-kick on the right from Stow found Hollomby who headed home comfortably.

Colliers Wood continued to attack with Sanchez Benali creating many promising moves. The last chance for Wood came on 72 minutes when Sean White shot past the post when well placed following a free kick from Benali.

Joint manager Danny Brownlie said: "It was a great result. We made some nicely worked and well taken goals. Our quality on the ball was a little sloppy, but once again we churned out plenty of chances and limited them to very few.

Next up for Hartley is a visit from mid table Spelthorne Sports on Tuesday night.

Look ahead to the game, Brownlie said: "Ross Cook is back available for selection on Tuesday night, as is young Adam New.

"Toby Jannaway is set to rejoin the squad following rehab from his successful operation. He added: "We're expecting to add a couple of new faces to the squad this week to maintain competition for places, so with the returning players and a few new signings it will help set us up for the gruelling winter schedule."
