SUPER sub Andre Williams scored twice on his debut for Hartley Wintney, as they came from behind to win 2-1 against visiting Knaphill.

The victory extended the Row's lead at the top of the Combined Counties League Premier Division to six points and was an impressive win as the visitors had won their last four game.

Knaphill led 1-0 at half-time, but man of the match Williams came off the bench to fire his side to victory with a well earned brace.

Talking after the game joint manager Daniel Brownlie said: "It was a terrific result against a very in form side. For a manager you'd much rather a comfortable win for the sake of your own sanity and heart rate, but sometimes winning in the manner in which we did on Saturday can have a much bigger impact on the team. It showcased our character, resolve and ability. "

He added: "We had seven players out for various reasons. I was even named amongst the substitutes. Despite desperate cries from the crowd to put myself on. We put Andrè on in hope that he could show glimpses of what he's been doing at training. Fortunately for us, our faith in the boy was justified."

Next up for Hartley is a home Aldershot Senior Cup tie against visiting Camberley Town tomorrow night (7.30pm).
