HARTLEY Wintney moved three points clear at the top of the Combined Counties League Premier Division, after a 2-0 win over visiting Bedfont Sports.

Sam Argent opened the scoring in the first half with a header and Steven Duff scored the second, after the break to make sure of the win.

The home side also had many more chances, and Adam Everiss, Duff and Aaron Parfitt all the woodwork.

Talking after the game Hartley joint manager Daniel Brownlie said: "We made three changes to the squad which won our last fixture. We have a superb squad who push each other forward and have a will to win that I've not seen from any other side.

He added: "Aaron Parfitt was tremendous in the centre of the park today, a worthy winner of the man of the match award. "We want to continue to improve and with that we roll into Saturday's game full of confidence."

An away trip to Sutton Common Rovers is next for Hartley and then they are on their travels again on Tuesday night, as the leaders are at third placed Epsom and Ewell.
