HARTLEY Wintney Football Club’s will stage the biggest ever game in the club’s history when they take on visiting Hereford in the fifth round of the FA Vase on Saturday (3pm).

This is the furthest the club have ever gone in this competition.

Victory on Saturday will see them into the quarter-finals and just two steps away from a dream trip to Wembley A sell-out crowd of 1,300 will be at their Green Lane ground to see if Hartley can be giantkillers, as they take on one of the favourites to win the Vase.

Having started their quest in the competition back in September, in the last round they beat Bradford 3-0 as Ross Cook grabbed a brace and Sam Argent netted the other.

The visitors on Saturday Hereford, were formed by Hereford United supporters when the club went bust in 2014.

The Bulls claim to fame is for one of the most famous shocks ever in the history of the FA Cup.

This was in 1972, when as a Southern League team they beat Newcastle United at their Edgar Street ground thanks to a Ronnie Radford famous strike.

Hereford like Hartley are riding high at the top of their league and have an awesome record, as they are unbeaten in 28 games having drawn their last outing after 27 straight wins.

"In terms of the game itself, we are obviously well documented underdogs, a term that I am more than happy to adopt. One of the great things about being an underdog, is that there’s no pressure."

The match is now a sell-out.
